I thought I’d take this Sunday to have a bit of a general chit-chat about what I’ve been up to recently & share some of my more recent lifestyle favourites including books, jewellery & a few other bits & pieces.
Catch-Up
I mentioned in my ‘May Favourite & Highlights’ post that May was a super busy month & June is proving to be a bit the same. If you live in New Zealand, I’m sure you’ll be aware of the Teacher Strike we had at the end of May & as someone who works with children & plans on becoming a teacher myself, all teachers have my full support. You may have also seen my Instagram post in support of this which I think in itself shows how passionate I am about teachers needing more support in the classroom. Hopefully we see the results we so desperately need very, very soon.
The past three Saturday’s I’ve been down at the rugby fields all day supporting my cousins who play for their school. Although it can be incredibly cold, wet & windy, supporting my cousins on the field is one of my favourite winter things to do. Over the next couple of weekends I will miss a few games due to prior engagements but you can bet I’ll be down there before the season’s over, cheering them on.
I have a trip to Auckland coming up & you have no idea how excited I am to not only see family & friends up there but also to just have a break from everything else. Over this period of time I’ll still have posts going up & have the odd post going up on social media but I’m really just looking forward to not doing a great lot at all. Stay tuned over the next week or so for some travel related post’s including what I’ll be taking in my travel makeup bag.
In the way of my study at the moment, I’m finished all the course work & I’m working on my final assessment. While I’m super excited to be drawing close to the end of this part of my studying chapter, there is still a lot of work to do. If you don’t here from me in a couple of days, don’t panic, I’m probably nose down in my assessment & textbook notes! Wish me luck!
I felt like a wee change so rather than having these lifestyle favourites combined in with my monthly favourite, I thought I’d share them here with you today. I’ll have everything linked where possible so you can easily find each product & get your hands on it if it’s something you think you’d enjoy.
I did briefly mention these in my ‘May Favourites & Highlights’ but my love for these polishes continues to grow. They apply & dry down beautifully & last a decent time on my nails for just a regular polish. Essie polishes are slightly in the more expensive price range but I know Farmers, my local department store usually have a good offer going with the brand which is generally when I’ll pick up a few new shades. I’ve also used a couple of their treatment polishes as well & they also get the big tick from me.
Again, these products we’re mentioned in my ‘May Favourites & Highlights’ but I’ve been so impressed I couldn’t not mention them again. So I received a Ecoya Candle & Defuser in the scent Guava & Lychee & my bedroom has not smelt better. They don’t give out an over-powering scent but it’s just enough to leave the room smelling beautifully. Ecoya offer a variety of beautiful scents, in multiple size & products. Whether you’re looking for a new candle, defuser, hand cream or even a body wash, I’m sure they’ll have something you love regardless of your preferences.
I love a good ole simple & minimal ring. Pandora have some of the most beautiful rings & I could spend heaps in the store but this one is one of my current favourites. It’s elegant & simple, I just love it. I wear it daily & it’s one of those accessories that you can rock with any outfit!
I’m not going to say to much about this book because a review is coming soon on it but I’ve just finished & did really enjoy it. I would highly recommend it for anyone who needs a good ole kick in the butt to just realise how bloody awesome they really are. Keep an eye out for the review, coming in a few weeks.
I’m a planning freak, let’s be honest. I’m one of the most organised people you’ll know, well I try to be anyway. My planner of choice for 2019 has been the Hobonichi A5 Cousin. It offers everything I was looking for in one planner. A monthly view, a weekly view & daily pages. There are plenty of reviews out there online already but definitely look into the planner if you’re looking for an amazing all in one planner. Hobonichi also offer a variety of other planners so if the A5 Cousin does’t sound like something for you, there may always be something else on their website that appeals to you more. I do highly recommend all of their products however I do understand they may not be for everyone.
This was a gift I received from Mum for my birthday & she had it monogramed with my name & I love it! It perfectly holds my Hobonichi A5 Cousin in it & is great for protecting my planner especially when I need to take it on the go with me. Kikki-K offer the A5 Leather Notebook Covers in a few pastel colours along with a black I believe which is super awesome. I highly recommend these leather notebook covers from Kikki-K.
